  1. How can I find what I am looking for?

    There are plenty of ways to find specific information on the site. A good place to start is the knowledge base where you will find a variety for search options. You can also checkout the sidebar which is always refreshed with the newest and most popular posts. To quickly get to a specific category use the drop down menu located at the top of the page.

    If you can't find what your looking for head over to the browse by author page and contact one of our friendly authors. You just might inspire one to write an interesting article about your interests.

  2. How do I become a member?

    That's easy just click the register button at the top of the page. From there you need to enter your username, email and password. After you click the register button you will be sent an email with a verification link. So go ahead and check your email, click the link and verify that your a real person. That's it, you just became an AquacultureTalk.com member!

  3. How do I update my profile?

    Once you are a member, login by entering your username and password at the top of the page. Once logged in you will notice "My Profile" is now visible. Click that and you will be taken to the back end where you can change and update your profile. You can even checkout the post editor, but you wont be able to publish articles until you apply for authors access to the site.

    Once you have your profile looking better head over to the members page and checkout your profile.

  4. How can I learn more about a certain author?

    There are two ways to find out more about a certain author. While viewing a post click the authors name to reveal their profile information, website and other posts. Or you can head over to the browse by author page to locate a certain author of interest.

  5. How do I start contributing?

    As a member you can start to get the feel for the post editor, and you can even preview how your listing will appear on the site. However you will not be able to publish articles until you become an author.

    If you are interested in becoming an author head over to the authors page and fill out the quick form at the bottom of the page. Your information will be reviewed and your account will be granted authors access to the site in a day or so.

  6. How do I get a profile picture?

    Your profile picture is actually a Gravatar and it is linked to your email address. It will show up beside your comments and on your profile/member page.

  7. What is RSS?

    RSS or Really Simple Syndication is a way for readers to stay updated on whats new without having to visit a website. With the use of an RSS aggregator or reader, you can subscribe to as many RSS feeds as you like and you can read all of those feeds from one place.
    AquacultureTalk has many options for RSS feeds to see which ones you might be interested in checkout the RSS Page.

  8. What is ShareThis?

    ShareThis is another nifty tool that has a few really cool features. Most notably it allows you to email posts to friends or colleagues and it allows members to submit content to a variety of third party services. Click the image to start using the ShareThis tool.

  9. How do I submit an event or news article?

    In order to submit an event head over to the submit event page. You must first become a member so that your event is linked to your profile information. After you submit the form you will see your event posted within a day or so.
    If you have a news article you can submit it just as you would any other article. Articles in the news category have a special function which makes them appear on the homepage. This is handled automatically.

  10. What if I want to create a poll or add a contact form to my post

    We have got you covered. If you have an idea for a poll then make sure you visit the Create A Poll page, you can choose to insert the poll directly into one of your posts or you can choose to have it featured on the homepage. This is staying in the spirit of community submitted content, so get into the action!

    Another really cool feature that is offered on the site is the ability insert a contact form directly into your post. This way readers can contact you directly from a post. Head over to the Create A Contact Form page to get started.
