AquacultureTalk.com “Complete” and Looking for Authors

Hello Fellow Aquaculturists,

This is Mike chiming in with the first ever news post.

I thought this day might never come, if you have ever created a website before you probably know that feeling. It seems like just as the site is about to be completed a new idea for a new feature pops up, or the always troublesome html, css or php issues rear their ugly heads. That is the reason for the quotes around the complete in the title of this news article.

I don’t expect this website to ever be “complete”, it will always be updated with new community submitted content. Or maybe there will come a time when a new feature needs to be added to provide a better user experience. Whatever it may be I fully expect the website to adapt and change over time as the site grows and evolves.

After putting a lot of time and energy into the development of AquacultureTalk.com today is an exciting day. However this website will not be what it intends to be without the support of the aquaculture community.

That brings me to the real purpose of this article, and for that matter the entire site as it exists today. I am asking anyone who is involved with aquaculture to take the step today to become a member of the site. Once a member you can setup your member profile and begin to familiarize yourself with the post editor. When you are ready you can then apply for authors access to the site which will have you submitting articles quickly and easily.

I can vision a day when AquacultureTalk.com is the best place to find a variety of aquaculture information all in one place. I can see a day when someone interested in aquaculture can visit the site and get answers and help from the aquaculture community.

It was a great experience developing this website. I feel I have put together a very interactive website that has some great features. However today is just the beginning, it is now up to the aquaculture community to decide how far this website will grow. So I will close by asking you to click the register button at the top of screen, fill out the simple form and become a member today. You can upgrade to an authors account whenever you feel comfortable.
